About the Ottawa Humane Society
For over a century, the Ottawa Humane Society has been the voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves. Founded on the principle that every animal deserves compassion, respect, and care, OHS has grown into one of Canada's leading animal welfare organizations. Our team of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers work tirelessly every single day to rescue animals in crisis, provide medical care, and find loving homes. We believe that by sharing our story—the challenges we face, the victories we celebrate, and the lives we transform—we inspire others to join us in creating a more compassionate Ottawa. This annual report is our way of saying thank you to our community and inviting you to be part of something truly meaningful.
