About this course

Leading People is part of Humane Canada’s evolving professional development program and is expected to form one module within the upcoming Certified Animal Welfare Professional (CAWP) designation or certificate pathway.

This course is for you if you meet one of the following criteria:


  • Five years of full‑time experience (within a 10‑year period) in not‑for‑profit or charitable organizations, with at least three years in an organization providing spay/neuter or field services for companion animals; 


  • A minimum of five years of full‑time supervisory or management experience (within a 10‑year period) in any field; OR


  • Have a Certificate in Humane Animal Care or equivalent.
